A premium brand specialising in handcrafted, organic chocolate made from sustainably sourced Balinese cacao, is looking for a Senior Agronomi to join their team.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or Horticulture.
- Over five years of experience in Agronomy.
- Having certifications or additional training in agronomy or cocoa plant management will be an advantage.
- Experience in research and development in the agricultural or agronomy sector is also preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of agronomic practices, including fertilisation, irrigation, pest and disease control, and the latest cultivation technologies.
- Strong understanding of cocoa plant biology, life cycles, and specific agronomic requirements.
- Good analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, develop, and implement agronomy programs aimed at improving the yield and quality of cocoa beans, including best cultivation techniques, fertilisation, and plant protection.
- Monitor the growth conditions of cocoa plants, including plant health, pest and disease control, and ensuring plants receive the necessary nutrients.
- Conduct research related to cocoa varieties, cultivation methods, and the latest technologies to increase productivity and the quality of the harvest.
- Oversee the management of cocoa land, including soil fertility analysis, crop rotation, and soil conservation techniques to ensure the land remains fertile and productive.
- Provide training to farmers and staff on best practices in cocoa cultivation, including planting, pruning, and post-harvest techniques.
- Collect, analyse, and report data related to cocoa production, such as yield, cocoa bean quality, and weather conditions. Use this data to make recommendations that can improve production.
- Collaborate with management teams, field teams, agricultural advisers, and other external parties to ensure the smooth running of agronomy programs and achieve production targets.
- Monitor the implementation of agronomy programs and conduct evaluations to ensure the success and sustainability of the programs. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement sustainable farming practices to maintain ecosystem balance and support the long-term sustainability of cocoa production.
- Manage the resources needed for cocoa cultivation, including budget, labour, and equipment, to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
