Port Captain Boat

AYANA Hospitality is seeking a Port Captain (BOAT) for our Komodo resort. As the Port Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, maintenance, and efficiency of our fleet of boats, while also ensuring guest satisfaction and experience. You will play a crucial role in maintaining communication with other departments and local authorities to ensure the resort's smooth operation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Regularly check and maintain boats, including engine fluids (fuel, oil, coolant), winches, navigational systems, fire extinguishers, life preservers, anchors, fenders, and ropes. Ensure proper function and safety of all equipment on board.
- Conduct thorough checks on all equipment and the crew’s readiness before every trip. Brief the crew on their assigned tasks and ensure the boat is properly prepared, including safety measures and guest requirements.
- Perform engine fluid level checks and ensure the boat is ready for operation. Navigate using best routes, avoiding potential damage to the boat, and assist the crew in maintaining communication during trips.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs for boats and equipment, following company standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of water sports equipment and facilities. Report damaged gear for repair or replacement and ensure equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.
- Successfully complete all annual training and certification processes, including those related to drone operation and other technical skills required for the role.

**Requirements**:

- A background in maritime operations, with a focus on safety, maintenance, and guest satisfaction.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operating and managing a fleet of boats.
- Familiarity with national and local safety regulations, including emergency procedures and protocol.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all departments, guests, and local authorities.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with proven experience in managing a team.
- A sound understanding of accounting and inventory management practices.
- Experience in dealing with various types of boats, engines, and onboard equipment, and the ability to diagnose and repair issues as required.
