**About The Role**:
**What You Will Do**:
- Develop a clear engineering roadmap for the team that aligns with business objectives
- Ensure engineers understand the end goal and are able to come up with technical solutions that support that
- Redirect the team's focus if the results aren’t moving the needle for our business/team goals or serving the needs of customers in a meaningful way. Anticipate risks, collaborate with stakeholders, and be accountable for your team’s technical decisions and outcomes
- Work with tech lead and senior engineers to set coding standards, architectural guidelines, and tech stack choices. Ensure products are reliable, thoroughly tested, and launched smoothly
- Coach and mentor your team for growth, provide constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and make tough calls if necessary
- Offer insights and advice on engineering matters to Product Managers and business stakeholders. Simplify complex technical details for non-technical audiences, balance project timelines, and align technology choices with business goals
- Optimize team composition for efficiency, prevent knowledge silos, and manage workload to avoid burnout. Plan manpower needs proactively to ensure timelines are met
- Build a team culture where engineers are motivated, engaged, and feel safe to express ideas and concerns. Encourage initiative, mutual respect, and accountability among team members
**What We Are Looking For**:
- At least 5 years in software engineering (Backend or Full Stack) with at least 2 years of managerial experience
- Familiarity with server-side development, ideally using Ruby on Rails or Golang
- Strong knowledge of distributed computing concepts like micro services, CQRS, event sourcing, and database sharding
- Experience with front-end or mobile development, preferably in Flutter, React, Angular, or Vue
- Experience in system design and architecture for scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency
- Proficient with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and caching solutions (e.g., Redis)
- Experience in the fintech sector is a significant plus
