Urban Planner

Key responsibilities:

- Lead and manage projects as Team Leader of the projects related to the core expertise e.g. Urban Planning, Urban Design, Built Environment & Digital
- Manage stakeholders as required in the projects scope, able to present and discuss with the stakeholders representing the project team.
- Support management of Cities (Urban Planning, Urban Design) and Infrastructure Advisory team in terms of workflow, scheduling, and deliverables.
- Review and ensure quality deliverables are submitted to the Client as contracted reflecting the international quality standard of Mott MacDonald.
- As Project Manager, manage the projects financials and timesheet allocation using internal MM system, ensuring targeted financial performance.
- Overall support to the Advisory sector in Indonesia, including consultancy services for Urban Planning, Urban Design, Built Environment & Digital (e.g. GIS)
- Support Business Development activities including meetings, events and other promotional activities

Experienced Senior Urban Planners or Urban Designers graduated from the following degree disciplines may apply:

- Urban Planning & Urban Design (Planologi)
- Architecture
- Real Estate
- Design Engineering
- Having Postgrad/Master’s degree from reputable university, preferably internationally reputable universities.
- International project experience and Indonesian project experience
- Familiarity with Indonesian planning and design regulations and codes
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English

Required software skills:

- CAD
- 3D modelling and visualization
- GIS (Optional)
- BIM (Optional)
- Design tools (e.g. Rhino, Grasshopper)
- Adobe Photoshop/inDesign (Optional)

We are looking for experienced professionals with the following characteristics:

- Proven track record on urban planning, urban design, urban infrastructure, including feasibility and business case projects.
- Proven track record of team leadership for the above projects, leading and managing the team in delivering quality deliverables
- Experience in both master planning and public participatory approaches in urban planning and urban design
- Familiarity with urban / spatial planning and land use regulations in Indonesia, including KKPR & Site Plan submissions
- Good understanding on urban economics, general finance, infrastructure financing, transport planning, environmental and social issues and permitting
- Demonstrate interest on critical issues such as climate change, GEDSI, and disaster resilience
- Flexibility, adaptability and great interest in multi-disciplinary advisory consultancy business
- Committed to accomplish project delivery within tight project timeline with limited supervision
- Capable of self-learning / autodidact and conduct independent research on new project disciplines or business areas
- Proficient in the use of design technologies, e.g. GIS & CAD
- Good visual communication skills using MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
- Methodical and scientific approach to problem solving
- Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
- Excellent verbal communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members. A TOEFL / IELTS scoring (can be indicative) is preferred.

You will join an established yet growing Advisory team and specifically Cities, Infrastructure Advisory & Digital Advisory team working on capital infrastructure projects in Indonesia, with potential involvement in regional and global projects.
