**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting technical implementation of national and international level environmental projects including: Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA/AMDAL), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), environmental monitoring studies, and environmental and social due diligence studies.
- Provide suitable and relevant technical and analytical skills to support project implementation; in the field and in the office.
- Report writing in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Participation in management and coordination of project activities within a team and with senior management.
- Developing scientifically defensible analysis, reports, and advice for clients.
- Ensure compliance with Hatfield’s Health and Safety Management Plan, client health and safety protocols, and compliance with Hatfield’s Quality Management Plan.
- The selected individual will work under the supervision of an international team of partners and senior managers to provide high quality design, management and implementation of environmental projects in Indonesia.

**Specific Role**:

- Conduct studies related to terrestrial ecology, biodiversity, and ecosystem services, including conducting field surveys as a field team member or field coordinator as assigned by the Project Manager (PM) and or Project Director (PD).
- Implementing field surveys in terrestrial, aquatic and/or marine habitats and contribute to design of sampling programs and sampling methods including, but not limited to, determining sampling locations, survey methods, field documentation development, data QA/QC and data analysis, equipment installation and field logistics arrangements.
- Is responsible for data management during field work, which includes, but is not limited to, compiling the data survey result i.e., tally sheets, observation sheets, questionnaires result and photos, checking field data for completeness and consistency, organizing hard copies and uploading soft copies of all data (and datasheets) to appropriate data storage areas after every field program.
- Conduct data analysis on biological field data, which includes relevant analysis related to species screening based on conservation status, habitat type and threat identification, species identification, research on species or habitats of concern, and calculating relevant biodiversity indices and statistics.

**Education and Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years of experience working in biodiversity areas, environmental management, monitoring, or assessment projects in Indonesia; preferably with an environmental consultancy.
- Specifically have a good understanding on IFC PS6, and Indonesian Regulation related to biodiversity and wildlife protection.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to travel to project sites, sometimes to remote areas, across Indonesia.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with international staff and clients.

**Desirable**
- A university degree in an environmental field, i.e., Environmental Engineering, Biology, Forestry, Chemistry, Fisheries, etc.
- Experience working directly with international environmental and social standards (i.e., IFC, WB, ADB, etc.).
- Experience working on environmental projects adhering to international standards in the aforementioned sectors.
- Demonstrated experience working as a positive team contributor.
- Understanding and experience of basic project management approaches (i.e., team management, budget control, and project scheduling).
