About the Role
Our client seeks a specialized Chemical Engineer focused on Safety and Compliance to join their operations in Tangerang. This critical role ensures that all chemical processes and facility operations meet stringent safety regulations and environmental standards. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The ideal candidate is meticulous, knowledgeable about industrial safety, and dedicated to fostering a culture of safety excellence within the organization, contributing significantly to operational integrity and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety management systems and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments of chemical processes and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and external safety consultants as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety engineering discipline.
- 4-6 years of experience in EHS management within the chemical or process industry.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, hazard analysis techniques (e.g., HAZOP), and risk management.
- Strong understanding of chemical process safety principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and reporting skills.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP) are highly advantageous.
