Lead Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Engineer (Remote)

Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Engineer to drive innovation in the Crypto & Blockchain space. This is a fully remote position, perfect for an experienced engineer who wants to shape the future of finance. You will lead the design and development of cutting-edge DeFi protocols and applications, working with a talented, globally distributed team. This role requires deep expertise in blockchain technology, smart contract development, and a strong understanding of financial markets. As a lead, you will mentor junior engineers, set technical direction, and ensure the security and scalability of our client's DeFi offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex DeFi protocols and applications.
• Architect secure, scalable, and efficient smart contracts for lending, borrowing, trading, and other financial services.
• Mentor and guide a team of DeFi engineers, fostering best practices and code quality.
• Collaborate with product managers and researchers to define the roadmap and features for new DeFi products.
• Conduct rigorous security audits and implement robust risk management strategies for all deployed contracts.
• Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the DeFi space .

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with 5+ years specifically in blockchain and DeFi development .
• Expertise in Solidity and experience developing audited, production-ready smart contracts.
• Deep understanding of financial instruments, market dynamics, and DeFi primitives (e.g., AMMs, stablecoins, yield farming).
• Proficiency in security best practices for smart contracts and decentralized systems.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive projects to completion in a remote setting.
