Senior Engineering

Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with a leading multinational Engineering Consultancy company to appoint a Senior Engineer - Mechanical ACMV based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Building Services Section Manager, the Senior Engineer - Mechanical ACMV will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of mechanical building services solutions across a wide range of projects. This role requires a highly experienced engineering professional with strong expertise in Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems, building services design, and multidisciplinary project coordination.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction support, while ensuring compliance with technical standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design & Project Delivery

• Lead the design and delivery of ACMV and mechanical engineering packages across all project phases, including feasibility studies, concept design, schematic design, detailed design, tender documentation, and construction support.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, schedules, drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Develop practical, efficient, sustainable, and compliant mechanical design solutions aligned with project objectives and client expectations.
• Ensure timely delivery of project milestones while maintaining quality and technical excellence.

Technical Leadership

• Act as the technical lead for ACMV and mechanical building services disciplines on medium to large-scale projects.
• Review and verify mechanical engineering deliverables for quality, compliance, constructability, and performance.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve technical challenges and optimize design outcomes.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Indonesian regulations, international standards, and industry best practices.

Multidisciplinary Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Electrical, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, Structural, Architectural, and BIM teams to deliver fully integrated engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary coordination meetings throughout project execution.
• Ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other building services and project disciplines.
• Support efficient project delivery through collaboration with regional engineering teams across Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and professional engagement.
• Participate in technical meetings, client presentations, workshops, and design review sessions.
• Provide technical consultation and engineering advice to clients throughout project delivery.
• Support business development initiatives through technical expertise and client relationship management.

Team Development & Mentoring

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers, graduates, and designers.
• Support knowledge-sharing initiatives and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• Contribute to capability development and continuous learning within the mechanical engineering function.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to technical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies, sustainability trends, and advancements in ACMV systems.
• Support development of improved engineering methodologies, standards, and design processes.
• Maintain professional development and pursue ongoing technical growth.

Key Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Additional professional qualifications or certifications in building services engineering are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience within a consulting engineering environment delivering building services projects.
• Proven experience leading ACMV and mechanical engineering design packages for medium to large-scale developments.
• Strong project experience across sectors such as commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, residential, data center, industrial, or institutional developments.
