Data Scientist

Job Description:

• Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our ads products.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
• Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions.
• Work with large, complex data sets. Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed. Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
• Build and prototype analysis pipelines iteratively to provide insights at scale.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for product development.
• Conduct research to help product and engineering teams provide better value propositions for shrimp farmers through data.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years in data science related roles.
• BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields. Advanced degrees preferred but not required.
• Able to collect and process data from any resource using SQL, R/Python, or other scripting and statistics tools.
• Experience in data analytics.
• Experience in AWS technology is a plus.
• Experience using machine learning frameworks.
• Experience in statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regression) and familiarity with statistics tools (Matlab, R, SAS, or Python).
• Experience with large data sets and distributed computing is a plus.
• Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
• The ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner.
• Advanced understanding of statistical analysis.
• Experience in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
