About the Chief of Risk position:

The Chief of Risk will ensure adherence to regulatory and best practices for the areas such as ABC, WHSE and Cybersecurity. This role demands collaboration across multiple teams and operational units to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks in alignment with the organization's strategic goals. A range of day-to-day responsibilities could include:

  • Establish a unified risk management framework, integrating and improving subsidiary risk approaches and teams into a cohesive strategic function – covering at a minimum, ABC, WHSE, IT/Cyber
  • Establish risk management policies, procedures, assurance activities, and tools for the above scoped areas to standardize risk assessment and monitoring to ensure fit for purpose for the operating companies
  • Provide quarterly risk assessment updates to the Board, highlighting key risks, mitigation strategies, progress, and insights to inform decisions
  • Improve, implement, and maintain anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABC) policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Periodically review contractor and third-party risk profiles and adopt additional procedures to mitigate bribery risks
  • Upgrade the WHSE operational risk management register to identify critical risks and corresponding controls
  • Establish and enforce robust technology solutions and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and training programs to safeguard the operating companies from cyber threats
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement across the organization

In summary, the Chief of Risk would ensure the company's operations are resilient, secure, and compliant, while also positioning the organization to thrive in the competitive digital infrastructure landscape.

Skills and experience needed

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field, with at least 10 years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as CRISC, CISM, or equivalent degrees are highly desirable
  • Proven track record in implementing risk frameworks within operating companies or similar industries
  • Strong knowledge of anti-bribery and corruption laws, WHSE regulations, and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Must have lived or worked in South-East Asia for 5 years
