HSE Dept Head

• Developing and implementing comprehensive HSE policies, procedures and management systems to minimise risks and ensure regulatory compliance
• Overseeing the execution of HSE training programmes and leading safety initiatives to foster a strong safety culture among our workforce
• Conducting regular site inspections, audits and incident investigations to identify and address potential hazards
• Collaborating with operational teams to integrate HSE considerations into all aspects of our mining activities
• Monitoring and reporting on key HSE performance metrics to senior management
• Representing the company in liaising with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders on HSE-related matters
• Managing and developing the HSE team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure their professional growth

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector
• Thorough understanding of relevant HSE legislation, regulations and industry best practices
• Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HSE management systems
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of HSE professionals
