What We Can Achieve Together
PT Jawa Satu Power is committed to operating one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most advanced CCGT power plants with excellence, reliability, and world-class standards. To strengthen our Mechanical Engineering capability, we are seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical Engineer who will play a key role in supporting equipment performance, mechanical system reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the power block, Balance of Plant, and fuel gas systems.
This position is ideal for early-career engineers who are eager to develop hands‑on engineering experience in rotating and static equipment, mechanical system analysis, reliability improvement, and technical problem‑solving within a large-scale power generation facility.
We’re Looking for You
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will provide engineering support for plant mechanical systems under the guidance of Senior Engineers. You will contribute to equipment performance monitoring, technical evaluations, reliability analysis, engineering documentation, and improvement initiatives to ensure mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting mechanical engineering activities for static and rotating equipment through data collection, basic calculations, and technical evaluations.
- Assisting in monitoring equipment performance parameters and operational trends to identify potential reliability issues.
- Supporting the preliminary assessment and troubleshooting of mechanical issues observed in plant equipment and operations.
- Participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives under the guidance of Senior Engineers.
- Supporting technical reviews related to gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, generators, pressure parts, Balance of Plant, and gas facilities.
- Preparing and maintaining mechanical engineering documentation, including drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications, calculations, and equipment records.
- Supporting mechanical engineering aspects of projects, modifications, and Management of Change (MoC) activities.
- Coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, vendors, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to support technical issue resolution and project execution.
- Supporting vendor and contractor activities, including work scope clarification, method statement review, and witnessing testing or commissioning activities as assigned.
- Supporting warranty‑related activities, Long‑Term Service Agreement (LTSA) monitoring, and preparation of technical reports.
- Ensuring all assigned engineering activities comply with HSE policies, quality standards, engineering codes, and applicable regulations.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Fresh graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering within a power plant, oil & gas, EPC, or heavy industry environment.
- Basic understanding of power plant mechanical systems, including rotating and static equipment.
- Familiarity with gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, generators, pressure parts, Balance of Plant, and gas facilities is preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, material selection, and engineering calculations.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Basic understanding of thermodynamic principles and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or CMMS systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and eager to learn from experienced engineers.
- Self‑motivated, disciplined, and committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
