Country Manager; Indonesia (Renewable Energy)

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Reporting To: International Head of Business Development (Geothermal)

**Job Purpose**:
The Country Manager (CM) will lead and grow the company’s operations in Indonesia, with a primary focus on geothermal energy projects and potential expansion into hydro and other renewables. The role requires a strategic leader with strong government relations, joint venture (JV) partnership management, and business development expertise to establish trust, navigate regulatory landscapes, and drive long-term growth.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Leadership & Strategic Management
- Provide executive leadership for Indonesia operations, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
- Develop and execute market-entry and expansion strategies for geothermal and other renewables.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing local team.

2. Government & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government bodies (e.g., PLN, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Finance, MEMR).
- Monitor and influence policy and regulatory developments impacting geothermal and renewable energy.
- Represent the company in industry forums, negotiations, and public engagements.

3. Joint Venture & Partnership Management
- Manage and strengthen relationships with JV partners, investors, and local stakeholders.
- Identify and evaluate new partnership and investment opportunities in geothermal and adjacent sectors (hydro, solar, wind, etc.).
- Negotiate and oversee contracts, permits, and compliance with local regulations.

4. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Drive new project acquisitions and greenfield/brownfield developments in geothermal and other renewables.
- Assess market trends and identify diversification opportunities in Indonesia’s energy sector.
- Collaborate with the global BD team to align Indonesia strategy with corporate goals.

5. Operational & Financial Oversight
- Ensure project execution meets financial, technical, and sustainability targets.
- Oversee budgeting, risk management, and reporting for Indonesia operations.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 10+ years in senior leadership (Country Manager, MD, or BD Head) within energy/renewables (geothermal preferred).
- Proven network with Indonesian government agencies (PLN, MEMR, etc.) and energy sector stakeholders.
- Strong track record in JV management, business development, and regulatory affairs.
- Experience in geothermal project development (additional exposure to hydro/solar/wind is a plus).
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; strong negotiation and presentation skills.
