**Certifications (Highly Regarded)**
- **CompTIA Security+** - foundational security knowledge
- **Certified SOC Analyst (CSA)** - role-specific SOC training
- **Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)** - for offensive security understanding
- **GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)** - practical security skills
- **Cisco CyberOps Associate** - for Cisco-based SOC environments
- **Splunk Core Certified User / Analyst** - for log analysis
- **Microsoft SC-200** - for Microsoft Defender/Sentinel environments
- **(Optional but valuable)**: CISSP, CISM, OSCP for advanced roles

**Technical Skills**
- Proficient in **SIEM tools** (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, LogRhythm)
- Experience with **EDR platforms** (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Sophos)
- Familiar with **firewalls, IDS/IPS**, and **network protocols**:

- Ability to **analyze logs, alerts**, and **threat intel**:

- Understanding of **MITRE ATT&CK**, **threat hunting**, and **incident triage**:

- Knowledge of **Windows/Linux OS security**, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and basic malware analysis

**Experience**
- 1-3 years in a SOC, NOC, or IT security role
- Hands-on with **real-time monitoring**, **alert tuning**, and **incident response**:

- Familiarity with **ticketing systems** and **security documentation**:

- Experience working under **24/7 shift rotations** (desirable in MSSP environments)

**Soft Skills**
- Strong analytical and critical thinking
- Clear communication skills for escalation/reporting
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
