About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Advisor - China Government Relations & Strategic Networking to join our team at PT. Hanjin Konstruksi Indonesia. As a contract role based in Serang Banten, this pivotal position will play a crucial part in strengthening our company's relationships and strategic partnerships with key Chinese government stakeholders.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Chinese government officials, policymakers and other influential stakeholders
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to the leadership team on navigating the complex Chinese political and regulatory landscape
- Identify and capitalise on emerging opportunities for collaboration and partnership between PT. Hanjin Konstruksi Indonesia and Chinese government entities
- Represent the company in high-level meetings and negotiations with Chinese government counterparts
- Analyse and interpret Chinese government policies, regulations and industry trends to inform the company's strategic decision-making
- Proactively monitor the political and regulatory environment in China and advise on potential risks and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to government relations and stakeholder engagement
What we're looking for
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in government relations, stakeholder management or strategic advisory roles, ideally with a focus on China
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with high-level Chinese government officials and policymakers
- Thorough understanding of the Chinese political, regulatory and economic landscape, including key industry trends and developments
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights and recommendations
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
- Willingness to travel to China on a regular basis to support the company's government relations and business development activities
