Mechanical Drafter

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Study various work documents (e.g., sketches, data, specification sheets, engineering calculations).
2. Coordinate current projects (workshop, design office, jobsite).
3. Write technical documentation.
4. Participate in design meetings.
5. Layout and design drawings.
6. Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
7. Draw freehand sketches of designs, trace finished drawings onto designated paper for the reproduction of blueprints, and reproduce working drawings on copy machines.
8. Any other duties deemed fit by the Head of Department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Develop plans, drawings, diagrams, and models in accordance with effective specifications, standards, and techniques.
2. Detail drawings in both AutoCAD and Inventor that meet or exceed the clients' needs, budgets, and expectations.
3. Develop detailed mechanical designs.
4. Detail drawings.
5. Assist in field measurements and inspections.
6. Manage electronic information in an effective and clear manner to allow all project personnel to access and understand the relevance of the information.
7. Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
2. Relevant certifications in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor are a strong advantage.
3. At least 3 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Drafter, CAD Technician, or Designer in manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industry.
4. Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Solid work.
5. Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerancing, and materials.
6. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and engineering documentation.
