To support our growing operations, we are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Engineer (Drafter & Estimator) to join our professional team. This role is essential in preparing accurate cost estimates, ensuring project competitiveness, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Role Purpose

The Civil Engineer (Drafter & Estimator) will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing cost estimates for civil construction projects, covering both direct and indirect costs. This position requires strong technical knowledge, cost analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with project teams to ensure precise and competitive bidding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction works (infrastructure, building, earthworks, utilities, etc.).
  • Prepare shop drawings and detailed plans according to project requirements.
  • Revise drawings based on instructions from engineers or clients.
  • Compile progress reports on costs and produce as-built drawings upon project completion.
  • Perform quantity take-off (QTO) and develop bill of quantities (BoQ).
  • Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Conduct benchmarking and market analysis for cost comparison.
  • Support tender and proposal preparation, ensuring cost accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Review and update cost databases for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in risk analysis and provide cost-saving recommendations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Estimator in civil construction projects (infrastructure/building).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, cost analysis, and market prices.
  • Familiarity with software (e.g., AutoCAD 2D/3D, SketchUp) and MS Excel (formula & data analysis).
  • Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitasking & meet tight deadlines.
  • Willing to be placed or assigned at any project location as required.
