Head of Commercial

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Head of Commercial to lead the company's commercial growth agenda. This pivotal role calls for a dynamic business leader with a deep understanding of chartering, freight, and logistics operations, ideally gained within the shipping or mining sectors.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and proactive market hunter—someone who combines strong commercial acumen with the agility to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in a competitive landscape.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and growth objectives.
  • Lead and oversee tender, pricing, and contract negotiation processes with clients, partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Build and sustain long-term relationships with customers and strategic business partners to strengthen market presence.
  • Drive new business development by identifying emerging market opportunities and converting leads into profitable chartering or logistics agreements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Technical teams to ensure delivery excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and commercial insights to support executive decision-making.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial management or business development within the shipping, mining, or logistics industries.
  • Strong grasp of market dynamics, customer networks, and commercial drivers within the shipping industry.
  • Proven success in managing high-value contracts, expanding customer portfolios, and delivering financial performance.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
