Role

The Senior Accountant role is responsible for handling and managing the full spectrum of the finance function including reporting, accounting, tax, audit, statutory compliance, etc., with the assistance of shared service within the Group.

Main responsibilities


• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and financial accounting, including the review of work performed by Finance Assistant


• Preparation of monthly balance sheet schedules, reconciliations, variance analysis and reporting to Singapore regional office


• Preparing monthly VAT and withholding tax (Pph 23, Pph 4(2), Pph 26, SVAT, etc.) returns


• Cashflow management and projections, including payments function.


• Manage and review work of external consultants – corporate income tax, secretarial, etc.


• Checking of expense claims to ensure compliance to local statutory regulations and company policy


• Review and ensure compliance with all regulatory finance and tax filing requirements


• Manage statutory audit, resolve any issues in consultation with management


• Ensure audited financial statements agree with CIT filing and reporting to Singapore regional office


• Coordinate with Operations team to ensure smooth business flow


• Ensure proper record keeping and filing for file sharing and audit purposes


• Responsible for maintaining proper internal control


• Identify areas of improvement in our financial processes and operations, recommend and implement changes to achieve efficiency and effectiveness


• Collaborate and manage relationships with others within the Group to achieve alignment in key business strategies and decisions


• Assistance in HR and administrative matters if required


• Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by line manager


• Assist as a back-up with the same scope for another Indonesian entity


• This role requires a robust hands-on approach, which requires posting of journals in the accounting software (JD Edwards). For example, this role is required to extract monthly expense claim reports, review by vouching to supporting documents submitted by staff, highlight any non-compliance to HR, and posting journals to the right account balances and transactions in JD Edwards.

Requirements


• Degree in Accountancy, or equivalent qualification in accounting


• Meticulous, independent, able to meet deadlines


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills


• Minimum 5-8 years of accounting experience


• Fluent in English, both spoken and written


• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel


• Experience in audit and JDE software will be an advantage
