Job Description: Strategy & Operations Specialist Shipping Company

We are looking for a hands-on Strategy & Operations who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to dive into the operational aspects of the shipping industry. This role requires someone with a strong strategic mindset and the ability to roll up their sleeves to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have a balance of analytical thinking and a pragmatic approach to solving real-world challenges, with a willingness to work directly on the ground as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and meet company goals.
  • Analyze current processes and identify areas for improvement, proposing practical solutions to drive performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute operational plans, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, providing actionable insights to management.
  • Oversee field operations and provide hands-on support to address and resolve on-site challenges.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align strategies with business objectives and market realities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.
  • Support management in decision-making by preparing detailed reports and analyses on operational performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Min 8-14 years of experience in strategy, operations, or related roles, preferably within the shipping, logistics, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Practical experience in field operations, with a willingness to work on-site as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in project management, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn strategic ideas into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
