Operations Director (Steel)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct daily operations, ensuring seamless coordination across manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain functions.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Monitor and manage operational KPIs, ensuring alignment with business goals as well as compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive business growth, manage operational risks, and support long-term strategic planning.
  • Ensure the effective utilization of resources, technology, and infrastructure to support sustainable operations.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, partners, and key stakeholders to optimize the company's operational ecosystem.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, preferably within the steel industry or building materials sector.
  • Demonstrated success in process optimization, strategic planning, and people management in a large-scale industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, supply chain logistics, and quality assurance standards specific to steel or construction materials.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams, drive performance improvements, and manage change in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
